Groote Keeten

The village of Groote Keeten is located near the beach, in the northern part of Noord-Holland. The area is situated immediately behind the dunes, making it easily accessible from the various holiday park such as the Sandepark.
 
The beach at Groote Keeten is wide, quiet and clean. The dune are wide and pleasant. It is one of the widest beaches in the region and offers enough space for people flying kites. Both a real beach holiday, as well as a cycling and walking holiday belongs to the possibilities in Groote Keeten.
 
The numerous cycle paths and quiet roads in the area, offer plenty of opportunities for cyclists. There are some beautiful walking track and cycling paths through the dunes as well. These make for example a nice and easy daytrip to the city of Den Helder.
 
In Groote Keeten you will find a few good and cozy restaurants like ‘Brekers’ and a beautiful beach pavilion. Perfect for a beautiful diner with sunset. It is also an easy trip to the village of Callantsoog (5 min by car)
 
The countryside surrounding Groote Keeten consists of beaches, sea, dunes, polders and the famous tulip flower fields. The area is known as one of the most beautiful areas of Netherlands. Not only in high season, but also in the early and late season is Groote Keeten an ideal place to spend your holidays. In the spring, Groote Keeten is in the middle of the beautiful Tulip fields. Cycling enthusiasts can rent bikes in the village and make a scenic drive through the bulb fields.
 
During winter and fall one can make beautifully walks on the beach and stroll through the dunes. In the early and late season Groote Keeten and the park Sandepark are the quieter, and is it an attractive holiday location due to good discounted prices.
 
Groote Keeten is also a good base for day trips to many of the cosy villages and towns of Noord Holland like Schagen well known for its traditional market and authentic costume parade, or Alkmaar, famous for its cheese market.
